Preview: WORLD DRIVER CHAMPIONSHIP At last another realistic racing game with potential for the N64. And I reckon that this one will live up the hype (V-rally 99 step forward in shame). From the pre-view shots that those nice men at BOSS studios have sent me it already looks as good as a pup with and Ice cold Stella waiting for you in the middle of the Sahara dessert. Heres the low down, Take loads of super cars, a huge prize fund and loads of city streets to race on, (sound similar to Gran Turismo yet?) and you get the makings of a good game. But I hear you cry, Gran Turismo. Ah yes but the tracks in Gran Turismo were never very exciting were they, and this will have four times the amount of pixels on screen without an expansion Pak. Oh yes Im looking forward to this one Oh yes I am. REVIEW: ROUGE SQURDRON [First I must point out I am exceptionally tough when I rate games and anything above 70% is very very good, above 50% is good around 50% is average and below 50% is pathetic] now on with the review.... When you turn this on with or without and expansion Pak the first time you get taken aback, there are no strait lines in the whole game where there shouldnt be the scenery and ground is all perfectly rounded its better than Banjo.. But however it seems very slow to watch, but when you play it you see it is perfectly paced you even find yourself slamming on the breaks regally. It still however doesnt seem quite the light-speed pace of the films. I prefer Lylat wars, but if you have completed that and would like another game of this type it is a must. And if you even thought the films were alright it is a must, Its a very enjoyable, if a bit short lived game you must play. 78% | |||||||||||||||||||||||
